Brandt Clarke more untradeable than Quinton Byfield?

Eric Stephens: “Brandt Clarke being more untradeable for the Kings than Quinton Byfield isn’t something that would have been said a couple years ago. Or ever, really. But that’s what it feels like. Or is.”

The Dallas Stars and Jason Robertson will deal with the contract stuff later

Bruce LeVine: Dallas Stars GM Jim Nill said that he’s had some talks with the new agent for pending RFA forward Jason Robertson. Both sides want Robertson focused on their stretch run and the playoffs. There is lots of time to talk and there is no pressing deadline to get a deal done.

NHL Rumors: What ‘Core’ Should the Vancouver Canucks Keep?

The Carolina Hurricanes’ goaltending situation, and it would take something big to move Alexander Nikishin

NHL Rumour Report: David Pagnotta on the DFO Rundown on the Carolina Hurricanes future goaltending situation: “By my estimation…Freddy Andersen won’t be back with the club; there is some indication that they are gonna be exploring the goaltending market in the offseason.”

NHL Rumour Report: Elliotte Friedman on Sportsnet on the Hurricanes, Alexander Nikishin trade rumors: “The return had to be elite for the Hurricanes to consider it.”

Will Jack Drury be back with the Colorado Avalanche next year?

Aarif Deen of Colorado Hockey Now: (mailbag) After the trade deadline acquisition of Nic Roy, it might make Jack Drury a trade candidate this offseason. They may not want to pay his asking price, and may want to recoup some assets. Don’t think they would have acquired Roy if they had known they’d also be able to get Nazem Kadri.

NHL Rumors: Washington Capitals, and the Detroit Red Wings

Now, if they can get Drury signed to a multi-year deal at a reasonable number, they might keep as a No. 4 center and move Roy to the wing on the third and as an option at center if need be. Drury is an RFA and basically was the only free agent who didn’t get an extension. Parker Kelly, Josh Manson, Sam Malinski, Scott Wedgewood, Martin Necas, and Gavin Brindley. Just speculating, but wonder if the Avs did have talks with Drury, but couldn’t agree on a number.
