Amy Duggar King claimed that prison “rule violations” from cousin Josh Duggar led to his extended prison sentence — and another stay in solitary confinement.

“Duggar news doesn’t stop. Always something to discuss. Always something to comment on. Again, someone else is in trouble,” Amy, 39, said in a recent Instagram video. “Josh Duggar, again, is in solitary confinement and his release date has been pushed back so we can praise God for that.”

Amy claimed that Josh, 38, lost “more good time credit” at FCI Seagoville in Texas, but the prison did not share details about his most recent violation.

“What’s crazy is, he was trying to prove to the court that he is a good person,” she continued. “He’s been trying to appeal his sentence ever since he got in.”

Amy added, “Yet he’s breaking rules behind closed doors and doing things that [are] not allowed in prison. Hello? Like, hello? Don’t you realize that’s not being a good person? That’s not having any character.”

Amy claimed that Josh is acting like he’s “above the law” and thinks he “cannot get caught.”

As she continued, Amy noted to followers that Josh hasn’t “proved himself” deserving of a second chance.

“This is absolutely disgusting, I can’t believe I’m making this video,” Amy said. “What goes through their heads? When behavior doesn’t change, neither does the outcome.”

She concluded, “Another delay, another violation and another reminder on why he’s there in the first place.”

Us Weekly has reached out to Josh’s attorney for comment.

[…]

Josh was found guilty of receiving and possessing child pornography in December 2021. He was eventually sentenced to 12 years and seven months behind bars. His release was originally scheduled for August 2032. However, it has been pushed back three times.

Us confirmed on Friday, April 22, that his new release date is February 2, 2033.

Josh has continued to maintain his innocence, making several attempts to appeal his conviction, most of which have been rejected. His most recent hearing regarding an appeal took place earlier this month. Josh appeared virtually to discuss whether or not he has filed the correct paperwork. A decision has yet to be made.

The recent developments in Josh’s prison sentence comes as another member of this family, brother Joseph Duggar, also faces legal troubles.

Joseph was arrested and changed with lewd and lascivious behavior involving molestation of a victim less than 12 years old and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 years or older earlier this year. He was accused of molesting a 9-year-old while on a Florida vacation in 2020. He pleaded not guilty and was released from police custody on a $600,000 bond.

Days later, Joseph was charged with additional counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment. Us confirmed on Monday, April 27, that he entered a not guilty plea.
