Rick Dhaliwal: “Lots of Elias Pettersson trade talk but as of now, he has not been asked to waive his no-move clause to go anywhere. Lots of chatter but don’t believe anything is close.”

Was Pavel Mintyukov looking for offer sheets before he re-signed?

NHL Rumour Report: Frank Seravalli on Canucks Central earlier this week on Anaheim Ducks defenseman Pavel Mintyukov:  “After that Leo Carlsson offer sheet came down, agent Dan Milstein was literally calling teams to ask them if they would be willing to put together an offer sheet.”

Voiding a no-trade clause if you ask for a trade

Andy Strickland: “Speaking to an #NHL Exec…he suggests if a player negotiates a no-trade or a no-move clause in their contract but then requests to be traded prior to the expiration of their deal, the NTC should be voided and the team should be allowed to trade the player to any team in the league.”

Could the Blue Jackets and Stars revisit Zach Werenski?

Puck Pedia Hockey Show: Jeff Marek wonders if the Columbus Blue Jackets and Dallas Stars revisit Zach Werenski trade talks.

Keith Kavanaugh: “Give us one surprise that you’re keeping eyes out for?”

Marek: “Zach Warrenski still gets traded for Thomas Harley.”

Kavanaugh: “Oh, you alluded to a little earlier.”

Marek: (rewind) “To be honest with you, Keith, I don’t know that that’s completely it. I think that that camp was surprised by it at how quickly everything happened. And I, one of the things, and again, I don’t know this for a fact, but one of the things that I wonder about was, were they prepared for this to happen so fast.”

Kavanaugh: “They just might need more time to process.”

Marek:  “Or be involved in the process.”

(fast forward) “But it’s not, it’s not until late July or August. I still don’t think it’s dead.”

Kavanaugh: “And that letter then means absolutely nothing.”

Marek: “It calmed everybody down for a while.”
