Glenn Close came to Kim Kardashian‘s defense about her performance in All’s Fair following viewer backlash.

Close, 79, shared a glimpse at season 2 when she uploaded photos from the set on Sunday, August 23. After a social media user expressed regret that Close had to “deal with” Kardashian, 45, the veteran actress clapped back in the comments.

“You know what,” Close replied in reference to a post, which featured Kardashian and her boyfriend, Lewis Hamilton, on the show’s set. “Whatever your opinion of Kim is, I want you to know she is a KIND, funny, steady, smart powerhouse of a woman and mother.”

Close then clarified her relationship with Kardashian.

“She is my friend,” she added.

In the post’s original caption, Close wrote, “Sir Lewis came by our All’s Fair location. I LOVED meeting him. What a sweet, classy gentleman he is. Thank you, Kim, for bringing him by.”

All’s Fair, which premiered in November 2025, follows an all-female law firm run by Allura (Kardashian), Liberty (Naomi Watts), Emerald (Niecy Nash-Betts), Milan (Teyana Taylor), Carr (Sarah Paulson) and Dina (Close). In addition to the star-studded main cast, there were appearances from Matthew Noszka, O-T Fagbenle, Kathleen Garrett, Ed O’Neill, Judith Light, Steven Pasquale, Tamara Taylor and Lorraine Toussaint in season 1. The guest cast also included Elizabeth Berkley, Grace Gummer, Brooke Shields and more.

Less than a month after its premiere, Hulu renewed the show while referring to creator Ryan Murphy’s legal drama as “the biggest Hulu original scripted series premiere in 3 years,” according to the first three days of streaming. The series launched at No. 1 on the Hulu Top 15 Today list and had “maintained a spot every day since” its debut.

Hulu noted that All’s Fair has also “dominated social conversation with more than 10 billion impressions to date” ahead of the show’s season 1 finale. The renewal came after All’s Fair received overwhelmingly negative reviews when the first three episodes debuted.

At the time, Kardashian laughed off the online commentary.

“Kim is so happy with how much the fans love the show, and it’s still No. 1 on Hulu [for the] third day,” a source exclusively told Us at the time. “She has joked that this is actually getting more people to watch it. She’s incredibly driven and knows one project doesn’t define her.”

Kardashian addressed the possibility of the show not finding its audience while filming scenes for her hit Hulu reality series, The Kardashians.

“It is crazy that this journey is over. Here’s the thing with these shows: It is not guaranteed that it’s gonna be a hit,” she noted in a November episode. “So you put your heart and soul and your time into something, and it’s like, ‘What if it doesn’t hit?’ Then what was this for?”

Kardashian attempted to stay positive about All’s Fair.

“Obviously with everything in life, you got to take risks to get there, but I have taken all the risks,” she continued. “I think doing a scripted show is more pressure. There’s definitely a judging meter of like, ‘You can act and you are a bad actress.’ Being on a reality show, you’re just living your life. … To get people to like a character is probably easier than to get people to like you for who you are.”

In addition to All’s Fair, Kardashian has collaborated with Murphy on American Horror Story: Delicate.

“I am, of course [taking classes],” she told Variety in April 2023 about her dedication to the gig. “You know, it’s a challenge [but] I like to challenge myself. We start shooting my stuff later this month but production [has] already started and I’m so excited. I can’t [say too much] but I’m excited. I think it’s really fun to step outside your comfort zone and try something new and grow. I’m so excited for the experience.”
