AC Milan reignited their European hopes with a 3-1 victory over Bologna at San Siro.

Santiago Gimenez scored twice either side of a Christian Pulisic strike as Milan came from behind to move up to eighth in Serie A, just three points behind fourth-placed Juventus.

Riccardo Orsolini scored for a seventh-placed Bologna side who will hope to do better when the teams meet again in the final of the Coppa Italia on Wednesday night.

It was a fourth successive win for Milan, who will head to the Stadio Olimpico in confident mood.

We want to end the season well – Pulisic

“We found some consistency now, which is important for us,” Pulisic told Sky Sport Italia.

“We know that we have a great spirit, but we’re playing really good games at the moment.

“Of course, we’re not satisfied with where we are in Serie A, but we’re doing well right now and it is important that we end the season well.”

Disappointment for Las Palmas but hope for Hoffenheim

Las Palmas’ hopes of avoiding relegation from La Liga suffered a major blow as they were beaten 1-0 at home to Rayo Vallecano.

The Canary Islanders would have moved level on points with 17th-placed Alaves with a win but remain in the drop zone after Alvaro Garcia scored the game’s only goal after 66 minutes.

Hoffenheim all but guaranteed their Bundesliga safety with a 2-2 draw at Wolfsburg.

They fell behind inside the first minute due to Leo Ostigard’s own goal but Pavel Kaderabek equalised 11 minutes before the break.

Jonas Wind restored Wolfsburg’s advantage with nine minutes to go only for Marius Bulter to grab Hoffenheim’s second three minutes later.

The draw moves Hoffenheim six points clear of the relegation playoff places with Heidenhiem having two games left to play.
