Eva Mendes is always and forever about her man.
On Friday, April 11, Mendes, 51, celebrated her husband Ryan Gosling for “turning his entire Fall Guy press tour into a campaign to get stunts recognized by the Oscars.”
Turns out, Gosling, 44, was successful — on Thursday, April 10, the Academy announced it would be adding an annual award for Achievement in Stunt Design in 2027.
“My man is the F best!” she wrote in a post shared via Instagram. “Unfortunately, success is almost only measured by box office. So I’m extra proud of my man for turning his entire Fall Guy press tour into a campaign to get stunts recognized by the Oscars. And now after Almost 100 years of stunt design not being acknowledged by the Academy, it’s officially a category!! This is a HUGE success! And an achievement that will last. Congratulations to the incredible stunt community!!”
Mendes added, “BTW, this is the last time I post a pic of my man and the total babe that is Emily Blunt. No más!”
Gosling took advantage of the Fall Guy press tour to bring more attention to real-life stunt actors like the one he portrays in the movie. He introduced a segment at the 2024 Oscars ceremony as part of that effort, and invited two stunt actors to the movie’s premiere. While at the event he told The New York Times, “This movie is just a giant campaign to get stunts an Oscar.”
Mendes and Gosling met back in 2011 while filming The Place Beyond the Pines. The pair kept their relationship under tight lock and key, but in 2014 Us Weekly confirmed they had welcomed their first daughter, Esmeralda.
In April 2016, the pair announced they were expecting their second daughter and Amada Lee was born a month later in May.
In 2020, Mendes explained why the two were so private about their relationship after an Instagram user accused Gosling of not being available for their kids.
“I don’t talk about Ryan and all the wonderful things he does as a father because I keep that part private,” she wrote on social media in April 2020. “I feel it’s best that I continue to disclose what I’m comfortable with but not involve him or my kids too much. It’s not about being cagey or weird, it’s just about staying private in a public space. Does that make sense? Hope so. Because this is my honest answer.”

In January 2022, a source told Us Weekly that Mendes and Gosling’s relationship is at its best when the Barbie actor “dedicate[s] a lot of time to being a stay-at-home dad.”
“The feeling is that they’ll relate to each other better by being outside of Hollywood, either in Canada or further afield from Los Angeles somewhere like Santa Barbara or further up the coast,” the source also said. “It’s ironic that they fell in love shooting Place Beyond the Pines in upstate New York, which is just the type of area they’d love to kick back and enjoy raising their kids.”
