Borussia Dortmund were hoping for a fourth consecutive win to move second in Germany behind Bayern Munich.
Having won at Athletic Club last Saturday, Getafe knew victory at home to bottom side Girona would lift them inside the top six in Spain.

Dortmund vs Augsburg: Guirassy goal decisive
Augsburg belied their position three points above the relegation zone and run of one win in seven matches in all competitions, producing nine of the 14 attempts between the teams at the WWK Arena.
Dortmund, though, had the luck in a contest of few significant chances, scoring the only goal of the game in the 37th minute when Chrislain Matsima’s attempted clearance hit teammate Han-Noah Massengo and rolled for Serhou Guirassy to slot in his fifth goal of the season from inside the box.
BVB are four points behind Bayern, who play their game in hand at home to fifth-placed Leverkusen on Saturday.

Getafe vs Girona: Mayoral makes history
Borja Mayoral became Getafe’s all-time leading scorer in La Liga with the striker’s 38th top-flight goal in a 2-1 win.
After on-loan Real Madrid midfielder Mario Martin headed the hosts in front in the 72nd minute from Luis Milla’s cross, Mayoral swept in Alex Sancris’ delivery 14 minutes later as Getafe moved sixth, three points behind third-placed Villarreal.

Cristhian Stuani replied with a 94th-minute penalty but the Girona captain’s side remain two points from safety, having won one and lost six of their first 11 league matches.
