Brian Norman Jr predicts first round KO in Errol Spence vs Tim Tszyu: “He’s going to sleep”

Former welterweight world champion Brian Norman Jr. doesn’t see the fight between Errol Spence Jr and Tim Tszyu lasting long when they meet this summer.

Spence last fought in July 2023 when he competed for the undisputed welterweight title, but he was comprehensively outclassed and beaten by long-term rival Terence Crawford, who went on to further strengthen his legacy and establish himself as an all-time great while Spence was inactive.

The former unified champion now looks to get back on track as he returns from three years out at a catchweight of 158lbs against Tszyu in Australia.

Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Norman, who has been sparring Spence in recent weeks, believes that his fellow American will get the job done inside three minutes.

“You’re definitely going to see a different version of Errol. I feel like he is going to be better than he was in the past and what I mean by that is – first-round knockout coming soon.

“Tim Tszyu is going to sleep, man. The boy ain’t got nothing for him. My boy, he coming to Australia just to give him the work, you feel me?”

It is perhaps unsurprising to hear Norman back ‘The Truth’ for victory, with the pair now both trained by highly-respected coach Ronnie Shields.

The fight between Tszyu and Spence is set to take place on Saturday, July 25, as the home fighter seeks a career-best triumph that would extend his winning streak to three consecutive bouts. It will be his first outing with Jeff Fenech as his lead trainer.

Should Spence win, he may look to enter the super-welterweight ranks in pursuit of another world title.
