Harry Kane scored twice as Bayern Munich continued their charge towards the Bundesliga title with a 3-2 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Aleksandar Pavlovic opened the scoring for Vincent Kompany’s side on 16 minutes before Kane netted twice for champions without reply.

Frankfurt launched a valiant fightback with 13 minutes remaining courtesy of Jonathan Burkardt’s 77th-minute penalty and Arnaud Kalimuendo’s 86th-minute goal.

However, Bayern held on to move eight points clear of second-placed Borussia Dortmund, who drew 2-2 with RB Leipzig.

Christoph Baumgartner bagged a brace to give Leipzig a commanding advantage but a Romulo Cardoso own goal and stoppage-time Fabio Silva leveller rescued a point for Dortmund.

In Serie A, leaders Inter opened up a temporary 10 point lead over rivals AC Milan with a 2-0 victory over Lecce.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Manuel Akanji scored the goals to tighten Cristian Chivu’s side’s grip on the title.

Inter’s city rivals can, however, reduce the gap to seven points with a win over Parma on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Como continued their fine season with a 2-0 victory over Juventus.

Mergim Vojvoda and Maxence Caqueret found the net for Cesc Fabregas’s men.

In Ligue 1, Lens missed the chance to maintain top-spot after falling to a 3-2 home defeat to Monaco.

Odsonne Edouard and Florian Thauvin put the hosts in a commanding position but the visitors hit back to turn the tie on its head in the final half-hour courtesy of Folarin Balogun, Denis Zakaria and Ansu Fati.

The result opened the door to Paris Saint-Germain to take full advantage, which they did by running out 3-0 winners over Metz.

Desire Doue, Bradley Barcola and Goncalo Ramos found the net as Luis Enrique’s side returned to the top of the table.

With Real Madrid slipping up in the title race against Osasuna, their city rivals Atletico moved level on points with third-placed Villarreal following a comprehensive 4-2 win over Espanyol.

Jofre Carreras gave Espanyol a sixth-minute lead before an Alexander Sorloth brace, plus goals from Giuliano Simeone and Ademola Lookman secured an important three points for Diego Simeone’s men.

Edu Exposito pulled one back with 10 minutes remaining but it proved to be little more than a consolation.

Elsewhere, three goals in the last five minutes saw Real Sociedad and bottom side Real Oviedo share the points in a six-goal thriller.

Federico Vinas scored twice in two second-half minutes for Oviedo before Sociedad hit back through Orri Oskarsson and then Duje Caleta-Car on 87 minutes.

Then, with 90 minutes played, Oskarsson thought he’d won it for Sociedad late on only for former Manchester United defender Eric Bailly to snatch a point for the visitors in the 92nd minute.
