State prosecutors filed a new petition requesting court-ordered forensic interviews of minor children in their ongoing case against Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr.
According to documents obtained by Us, lawyers representing the State of Georgia filed a new motion on Thursday, September 17, asking the court to require “forensic interviews” with unidentified minors. (TMZ was first to report the news.)
“The state will proffer a good faith basis for concern regarding additional minors who require forensic interviews related to this case,” the docs read. “To the extent the court must consider video evidence and receive a proffer by counsel related to potential victims, the state requests [the] same be done in camera or in a closed courtroom, with counsel for defendant present. The video evidence is explicit in nature and should be reviewed and considered under seal.”
Us reached out to KJ’s lawyer for comment.
KJ, the 15-year-old son of estranged couple Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann, was arrested in Alpharetta, Georgia, in August for aggravated sexual assault and aggravated sodomy after an alleged incident with an unidentified minor victim earlier this year. KJ, who has categorically denied the accusations, has yet to enter a plea.
KJ was also indicted earlier this month for aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment and three counts of sexual battery against a child under the age of 16. (He has not been arrested for the remaining charges in the indictment.)
KJ was held at an Atlanta-area juvenile detention center before he was granted $200,000 bail on September 11. He will now be subject to pretrial supervision ahead of his arraignment in October. Per the terms of his bond, KJ is required to wear an electronic ankle monitor under 24-hour house arrest without any access to a cell phone or social media.
KJ’s attorneys have since requested to transfer the case to juvenile court, which would prevent their client from being tried as an adult, and to close all hearings to “protect juvenile identities” and records. A judge ruled to restrict media recording and photography on Thursday.

“To that end, any such records shall be filed under seal and any such exhibits admitted at the bond hearing for the court’s consideration will conform to the terms of this order, accordingly,” the ruling states.
Following his arrest, prosecutors claimed in court that video footage was found of KJ allegedly engaging in sexual behavior with an underage relative and there was allegedly “multiple encounters” where KJ used “predatory [and] derogatory” language toward the unidentified victim.
“The characterizations made in court regarding the prior juvenile matter involving KJ Biermann grossly misrepresent both the facts and the ultimate resolution of that case,” KJ’s lawyer Jason Sheffield told TMZ in a statement, addressing the accusations. “The matter arose from inappropriate, crude behavior involving two middle-schoolers.”
