Napoli have been crowned the Serie A winners after beating Cagliari 2-0 in front of a packed out Armando Maradona Stadium.

Naples could have been mistaken for an earthquake at full-time after Antonio Conte’s men secured the Italian crown, edging out Inter Milan.

It was a routine win for the newly crowned champions, despite Champions League finalists Inter easing past Como away from home.

    Como 0-2 Inter Milan

Inter Milan closed out their Serie A campaign with a  2-0 win over 10-man Como, but their title hopes were dashed in the process.

Simone Inzaghi’s side made the breakthrough on 20 minutes when Stefan de Vrij powered home a header from a Hakan Calhanoglu corner.

Inter dominated much of the first half, and their control deepened when Como goalkeeper Pepe Reina was sent off before half-time, during his last competitive match before retirement.

Despite the man advantage, Inter remained cautious after the break with one eye on the Champions League final.

They did, however, double their lead just after the restart. Joaquin Correa received a clever pass from Taremi inside the box, cut back onto his left foot, and curled a composed finish into the far corner.

Cesc Fabregas’ Como side showed spirit, with Patrick Cutrone and Gabriel Strefezza both spurning decent second-half chances, but the numerical disadvantage told. In the end, it was not enough to secure back-t0-back titles for the visitors.

A decade-defining night at the Stadio Maradona ended in celebration, as Napoli’s 2-0 win over Cagliari secured their fourth Serie A title – and a second in three seasons.

From the outset, Napoli dominated, racking up 17 crosses and 72% possession by half-time. The breakthrough came in the 42nd minute, when Matteo Politano’s cross was met by Scott McTominay, who bagged a bicycle kick in the biggest game of his career.

Inter’s lead in Como made the stakes crystal clear – Napoli had to win. And with nerves tightening early in the second half, Romelu Lukaku delivered a moment of pure class.

Holding off two defenders to meet Rrahmani’s long ball, he surged into the box and finished low past Sherri. His shirtless celebration drew a yellow card – and deafening roars from the home faithful, as well as the rest of the city.

Conte’s men managed the remainder of the game with class, restricting Cagliari to a single shot and none on target. Napoli finished with 22 shots while a suspended Conte, watching from the stands, became only the third coach in history to win Serie A with three different clubs – Juventus, Inter, and now Napoli.
