Trade targets – Jordan Binnington (Blues), John Gibson (Red Wings), Darcy Kuemper/Anton Forsberg (Kings), Arturs Silovs (Penguins), and Sam Montembeault (Canadiens).

Some young center options for the Detroit Red Wings if they go down the trade route with Simon Edvinsson
Ryan Dixon of Sportsnet: The Detroit Red Wings would like to sign Simon Edvinsson, but Elliotte Friedman has reported he’d prefer to be moved. Dylan Larkin could also be moved, and the reports are they’d like a center who could immediately play. If interim GM Shawn Horcoff is going to move both, he could alter the ask and look for a center in a Edvinsson. Some potential targets.
Caleb Desnoyers – Utah Mammoth – Frank Seravalli reported the Mammoth are interested in Edvinsson, and were aggressive this past offseason in adding some help upfront. The Mammoth have some depth down the middle with Logan Cooley, Vincent Trocheck/Nick Schmaltz, and Barrett Hayton.
Berkly Catton – Seattle Kraken – Was the eighth overall pick in 2024 and one of several centers the Kraken have drafted over the years – Matty Beniers, Jake O’Brien, and Shane Wright (who might intrigue the Wings).
James Hagens – Boston Bruins – He wouldn’t be easy for the Bruins to give up, but you’d be getting a top-pairing left-handed defenseman who can play 23 minutes a game.
New York Rangers Betting Outlook After Shesterkin Injury
Dalibor Dvorsky – St. Louis Blues – If the Blues plan on having Robert Thomas and Mason McTavish their top two centers for years, Dvorsky could become expendable. They also took Tynan Lawrence at No. 11 this past year.
Kent Johnson – Columbus Blue Jackets – The Blue Jackets would need to add a little more to entice the Red Wings. He did put up 24 goals and 57 points two years ago, but has been in the rumor mill for what seems like years.
